Hello, this is my first turorial i hope for some reactions ^^
My GIMP is in an other language (Dutch) so maybe i don't translate evrything right but try to ignore that :w:
End result:

step 1:

- first we open a new document i chose 420x300
- now we go to filters --> artestic --> Gimpressionist
and do this setting:
Posted Image
- now press Ctrl+F 2 times
- now go to filters --> fade/blur --> Motion Blur
with this settings:

you should have something like this now:
Posted Image
- duplicate this layer

step 2:

- press the 'background' layer (first layer) now and go to filters --> distorts --> wirl and pinch
keep the standard settings but change '' Whirl angle '' to 90

step 3:

- press on the '' background copy '' layer and do the same as step 2 but now do the '' Whirl angle '' to -120

step 4:

- set the layer mode to '' Darken only ''
- merge the two layers together

you should have something like this now:

step 5:

- go to: tools --> color --> colorize
this step is up to yourself, i chose i nice blue color here but you can do what you like, you also could do something with Plasma clouds
here to give it a nice colour :h:

step 6:

this is optional but i liked it,
- duplicate the layer and put the layer mode to addition
you should have something like this now (and the layer mode i mean is also on the image):

- merge the layers together

Yeah! you're finally finished :h:

Thank you for using my tutorial, please forgive my bad English, english isn't my first language :w:

I really like that effect! Most of my work is just several effects and patterns that I like or made on top of each other so adding a new one to my arsenal always helps :l:
