Ever wonder how to make text bars like the one in this sig


Well Guess what I"m gonna teach you!

Ok
Step 1) Take out you text tool and write your name (shoudn't be too hard.)

Step 2) Make a new layer and whip out the pencil tool.
Step 3) Grab the 1x1 pixel brush
Step 4) Zoom in by 800%
Step 5) Go one pixel above your text on the top right side and over to the left

Step 6) Do the same for the bottom of the text

Step 7) On the bar layer motion blur it with the settings 15X180
Step 8 ) Then motion blur it with the setting 30x0
Step 9) Then motion blur it with the settings 15X180

Vola you have text bars

Not to hijack your thread Watup, but another way to do this is by using a gaussian blur with vertical at 0 and horizontal at your preference.

I have been wondering how to do that for a while now.

gaussian blur doesnt work for me it will only let me have x and y as the same number.
how do i merge the bars with the text?i only see the bars when i do merge visible layers.
ok it has to be transparency.

On the gassin blur click the chain so its brocken.

i think no tut is needed for this, its too easy, and even a newbie should know this "motion blur trick"
