Great job, as always, NC! I like the "creamy" look of the background.

Off topic, but I certainly miss it and am glad to see it's coming back. Colorado's a fun team to watch. Peter Forsberg was one of the first players I latched onto. Hope he comes back to the NHL. I heard he got hurt overseas.

Well, this is really off-topic now, but here's a link to my photobucket page that has tons of hockey avatars that I made with another graphics program:

Hate to say it, but it would seem a lot easier with vectors. Course this is a gimp forum, but using something like Inkscape would make this (and making a lot of them) so much more easier.

Great turorial though.

How do you create a gradient?

(I have 2.6 running on a Linux machine.)

Click on the tool that has a picture of a box with a black/white gradient in it. Then drag your mouse over the canvas. :)

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. I know how to use the tool. Step one in the tutorial says to create a gradient. It shows a slider with values on it. I can't find that slider. I want to know how to create a custom gradient like he says to do in Step one.

Thanks,
PK

Oh sorry. Well I didn't know about the gradient creator until a couple of days back actually, in the Gradients dialog, click the little button with a picture of a blank page marked "New gradient". However, it takes quite a while to figure out how to use this function, and I'm not very good at explaining. The best I can say is look at the help files, they should explain it enough for you to at least follow this tut.

Hope I could help!
