Alrighty. Make a new image. I made mine 400 x 200, but the size really dosen't matter. AND THERE IS A 56K WARNING ON THIS BABY

Now, grab your paths tool:

And make a path something like this:

(outlined in yellow)

If you are having trouble with making paths curvy and whatnot, fencepost has a great tut on paths.

Now, select this brush here:

And make sure that your colors are like so...

Good so far? Okay, now hit (under the paths toolbox) "Stroke Path"

Posted Image

So far so good, now just hit okay and your image should look like this

Now make your brush this:

And your color this: (the hex value is there if you want it)

Posted Image

Now go back to your paths toolbox (do not click on another tool while doing this, it WILL erase your path!!) and hit stroke or whatever and you should end up like this:

Startin' to look like a wire yet?
One last thing: Make a new layer and put the wire on that top layer.
The best way to do this is just to hit Ctrl-A, Ctrl-X, select top layer, and hit Ctrl-V, then anchor.
Choose this brush:

Posted Image

NOTE*** The brush might have to be bigger, i'm not sure if this is the right screenshot out of all the others :)
and make the color black again. Now brush where I have (the black circles)

and you have a complete wire with holes!! :) w00t!!

Very nice, alien! This is one of the easiest methods I've seen. Have you tried applying any type of texture to the wire, maybe making it more of a fiber? I'll definitely be using this one in the future!

thank you... I think you can make the wire hole more definitive by putting a white to black gradient in a circle slightly bigger than the black hole... if you get what i mean :w:
