If you registered on GimpTalk but did not receive an activation e-mail within a few hours or so, there is likely something wrong. The reasons can be many, from you entering the wrong e-mail address to GT server issues.

... However, and this needs to be repeated as not everyone notice the instructions above the form, you must supply the nickname you used to register (and ideally the same e-mail address) in the form. Vast amounts of people (and possibly bots) register on GT at any given day and there is no chance for staff to identify you and force-activate your account among all these newcomers if you do not help us out.
Also, as also mentioned above the form, staff do not respond personally to you through this form. If you did not read the instructions and supply the information, it's not much we can do to help you. (That said, if you think we've missed/forgotten your request for a failed registration, feel free to send again after a few days to remind us. We are only human after all.)
... We want to stress that problems with your login is essentially the only thing the 'Contact Us' form is to be used for. GIMP questions go into the correct forum. If you have other questions to staff, send them via PM once you have successfully logged in.
