I voted for Snait; it's not often you see digital stuff that looks simplistic *and* polished. :)

Voted for Griatch.
Snait's entry was really good, but I think Griatch's entry fit the theme better.

Voted for Griatch, like Eugenio, Snait also had a great entry but Griatch's entry fits better. The composition and lighting and colours are also beautiful.

I voted Griatch because to me he is an artist even if everyone did a good job.

I must say that Platypusman's entry made me smile - it is certainly literally a "refuge", that fish has nowhere else to go! Also, the expression on the shark's face is quite funny. But while clarity is good, this style is somewhat too simplistic for my taste though.

DonGoGo's entry is interesting, the hand seems to be coming out of clouds, but I guess from the text it's meant to be water? I interpret it as clouds, and the hand is pretty well done I think. I guess one could imagine, from the text, that people need 'refuge' from dying in the mediterranean, but it's a rather weak link. The flawed grammar confuses the isse a bit too, distracting from the image itself.

My vote this week goes to Snait's entry; I enjoy the paper-boat sailing off in the distance, sort of bizarrely matches the stick figure we have clambering to the plank (the plank could have been paper too actually, to drive the point home even further). A curious thing is that it looks like the guy reaches quite high over the water ... maybe he's already wading ashore! :)

That refer to few tragic histories well know in Italy but no much outside.

Several boats packed by Refuge's seeker (or as our government prefer to call them " Clandestine Immigrants " ) sink close to our cost, most of passengers die.

In at least one case the Boat sink after a crash with a boat from our army ,during a interception operation.
Responsibility was never found, but several "clandestine" refer that, in order to stop the boat, the military boat just rammed the boat.

that was just a old rotten boat, overpacked with people woman and children so it just sink and the military boat was not organized to rescue all passengers.

back to the vote

i am really uncertain Griatch artwork is really excellent hard to match its quality and inspiration
But simplicity , straight to the point with no more that the very essential make Snait entry really a good one
It is a hard match and between 2 artworks hard ,almost impossible to compare

About DonGoGo his is a very nice work, only has a limit.
Its reference are immediate for Italians but not for others, few know how our country treat people seeking refuge or Political asylum, and that image refer to that but that reference is hard to guess for others from other country, and that is a limit

Platypus entry is really fun and the expressions of the shark and the fish make me laugh

i don't give a vote yet.. at the moment i prefer only give my feedback..

Also because my vote would be a EX EQUO between Griatch and Snait but since that is not admitted..
... i believe will be the launch of a coin to decide for me

Thanks to everyone for your comments and your votes.

@ griatch thank you for your nice comment. I appreciated a lot your specifications. Yes, the plank in fact was meant to be of cardboard in order to stay in relation with the paper-boat and the ink-man. What concerns your note about the posture of the ink-man that seems to have reached the shore, well I can only say that (and that ink floats ;-D )
