Griatch has my vote.. Absolutely stunning

I would have voted for Marvin since his is just as great. but the negative space killed it for me.

Griatch's entry is one of his best pieces ever I think, but I think that the painting is more about All Hallow than about Halloween. Piginste1n's Pumpkin is pure Halloween so my vote goes to Piginste1n.

Out of curiosity, what is the difference? Wikipedia has this to say: The term Halloween is shortened from All Hallows' Even[ing] ...

@thread
I would have voted Marvin for the cool eyes, but the shadowing on that is off enough to throw it from what was originally intended. Lavexn has nice light in there and sir Hobo has a scary enough pumpkin indeed. piginste1n is not bad either but eventually my vote goes to Newt this time around; it's a clean iconic pumpkin and also the basis for the tutorial from which piginste1n made his entry if I am not mistaken.

Too bad Reynante's entry fell away, he has a very interesting, unique style.

Aw, dang it! He PMed me back, though he didn't paste the url into the message itself, so I was going to check the thread later to see whether it was there, and then of course I forgot. (smacks forehead)

Anyway, it's up there now and there are a couple days left to vote. Sorry about that, Reynante.

Thanks Griatch.
I probably would have gone with Reynante's pic he defiantly has "the gift". Even though he uses simple shapes, he always finds a way to catch the eye, and its always so polished.
Any way I choose MarvinX this time, he too has got a good eye, and you can tell he's improving all the time.

What I meant is that the man, although you called him All Hallow, could be anybody.To me the picture is of the comic moment, the surprise and the expression on the man's face. It is so good that it makes Halloween incidental. If you substituted the pumpkin for a spider on the wall the picture would be just as stunning.

Oki, fair enough, was just curious. :)
I did not really intend for the man to be called All Hallow though; "All Hallow's night snack" is simply an (attempted) play with the two words "All Hallow's eve [night]" merged with "night snack".
