About Me
Hi! I'm Alex.
I'm a 22 year old male from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I've been using TheGIMP for 6 years now, mostly doing photo restoration. I have a Gimp Tutorial Blog called "Gimped!" where I teach my methods of editing photos. For the most part, my techniques rely heavily on using layers, layer masks, and layer modes. I always try to edit an image so that I can change EVERYTHING I did to it. Often times, my finished photo will have 6 or 7 layers, that are all white (or black) with a layer mask just to brighten (or darken) a small part of a photo.
I also run a business, called Generation-X Albums. What we do, is take someone's photos and videos, put them into a digital format, restore the photos, and put it all together in an organized and complete package, called an Album (Also known as a montage.) I also offer my photo-editing services to busy photographers, allowing them to spend more time making money by taking more photos.
I joined this forum to teach other users what I know, as well as try to learn some new tricks from fellow users. Maybe together we can become better photo-editors!
