I know there is a thread there about an updated GURM aka ver 0.8

I think this is a 'red-herring'. Taken from the last version 0.7 which works for me in linux and Gimp 2.8

"GURM is done by Sagenlicht from Cartographers Guild"

Going back to the original poster, it looks more like a Mac issue rather than a Gimp issue.

i don't know if mine is a mac-related issue. I ran Gurm without problems previous to install Gimp, version 2.8. And i won't go back and downgrade gimp to any older version.
Maybe my python packages needs an update, to accept the ok button again. I'll check it. However, i think its more an x11 window-system-issue.

The best for me right now would be to get some code snippets to tell gimp how to refresh its resources, which i don't want to make manually all the times in future. But i don't know python or scheme.
