I think I improved on your method for creating the background :w:

Thanks ^_^ pretty simple really, duplicated the logo until it covered the layer then ran a noise pick and gaussian blurred by about 10*10. Also feathered the edges of the elliptical tool as the effect looks slightly more natural IMO.
