EDIT: I got it to work...I just deleted old patterns file then I made a new one, and put them in there because I didn't use the other patterns anyway.

The process above is good if doing it just once, but I'll have to apply a border to THOUSANDS of separate texts - how can I speed it up rather than following the below instructions?
------------------
Quote

Right click on your text layer and choose "Alpha to Selection"

Now create a new layer and place it under the other text layers. Call it something like "Black".

Then go to Select ---> Grow, and grow the selection by 1px. Then bucket fill it with black.

--------------------------
To repeat, my question is, suppose that I'm going to be doing this a LOT - a lot of text in different locations, or perhaps something like making a lot of these userbars and wanting to keep the same text and I want to add the 1 pixel "border" around the text every time. Is there a way to do this faster?
IDEALLY, all the text, as it was typed, would show up with the 1 pixel border as it was typed. A close second to the ideal would be the ability to apply the border to every single piece of text on the page with a single click.
A third best solution would be the ability to apply the border to individual pieces of text with a single click without having to go through the process of alpha to selection -> new layer -> select -> grow -> fill.
