In a video I've seen (by Kevin)the downloaded Heal Selection and Resynthesizer need to be moved into the Plugins and Scripts directories. The video shows these directories are to be found at My Computer > C: > Documents and Settings > in the Gimp folder. But my Win7 doesn't have that folder tree. (Unbelievable - but that's Windows!) However I have Gimp2.8 on the desktop and within that I see a folder '.gimp-2.8' and the list of directories that appears to be what I'm looking for is in there. I've tried putting the 2 tools in the appropriate folders, close and restart Gimp, but the tools don't show up. One problem for me is that the video instruction is difficult to follow and I may still be doing something wrong.
Are there any clear and simple instructions I could follow, or could someone set me right please?
I'm really looking forward to using these tools and Gimp's reputation is very good. I also love the "Grokking The Gimp" Manual so my expectations are high.
Mike.

Could be the resynth version & you don't say if you are using Win7 32 bit or 64 bit. The only Win7 I have is a 32bit VM. Should be similar for 64bit.
A few surprising results for the various resynthesizer versions. 0.16 works but picks up totally the wrong areas same with an "installer" version. This one works here;
http://aljacom.com/~...r_v1.0-i686.zip
and if you look down the reference page http://registry.gimp.org/node/25219 almost at the end, there is a reference to a 64 bit version.
Installing: Download the zip, Win will open a zip as a folder. Copy the 3 files resynthesizer, resynthesizer-gui & plugin-heal-selection.py file to your C:\Users\<your_name>\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins That's the installation.

Using it: Make your selection. The python plugin is in menu Filters -> Enhance -> Heal Selection.
Looks like this, a bit too easy using a beach for the test.

Grokking the Gimp - very old so read between the lines, for example the Gimp interface has changed a lot. Still a handy reference
