Hi there!

EDIT***

I've just recently downloaded GIMP and I've been trying my hand at the digital medium. I've done two images thus far, both of dwarves using a mouse.

I admit I didn't spend too much time on this one. This was more or less feeling out GIMP.

This one I spent a bit more time with. Didn't really have an exact plan as to what I was going to do, just kind of made it up as I went along.

I still have a lot to learn, both with using GIMP and with drawing and painting. So let me know what you think. All comments and critiques welcome! :D

EDIT***

Bought a bamboo tablet and have been working on a new piece (another dwarf) and would like some feedback on it. Thanks!

You did this while still learning GIMP.

With a mouse.

Excuse me while I go cry in a corner.

For some reason this computer can't open deviant art. :S

But from the thumb nail, it looks good. =P

They are really good, especially for your first time using GIMP! :D
The colored one is my favorite, I love the detail you put into it. I only think that the skin tone looks a bit too grey, I should try to add some more color to it. ;)

Thanks guys :D

As for the skin tone, I did kind of over did it with the darkening of the face. Originally the face was very vibrant, contrasted pretty horribly compared to the rest of the image.

Ok,that's just weird.

No, not your painting, which is very nice. I'm reading Dragonsdawn and it inspired me to do a painting of Sorka and "Duke" and the resemblance to this work is... weird.

I swear I hadn't seen yours before I did the sketch for mine!
