Hey guys I followed some tutorials about "space-scapes", and it seems to work pretty good. My finished product is in the attachments. However, I cannot get the shading correct on the planet. I create a larger transparent layer above the planet, and create a black elipses. I then blur it, but it just doesnt come out right.
Any Ideas would be great! (:

Not bad. I think the planet's line can be angled for better interest.

Just an opinion, though,

Considering the intensity of the light source, I would imagine more light being reflected off the surface. Just add another layer like for the shading, but white on soft light mode.

It looks nice! I do think that the planet could look a little more interesting though, and reflect some lighting from the big light in the "sky" space area.
Nice work for a beginning piece! :D
