Image is link to bigger version

This is an illustration of a scene where Mara's (the character on the lower right) reflection has escaped her mirror and ran off. She tracks it down to a banquet in honor of the baron. You can see him at the top of the balcony, in the middle of the five arches. He's wearing Carolina Blue.

Mara's reflection (middle left) doesn't have a reflection of its own... because, well... if -it- ran away, I'd have to draw a lot more Mara's - and aside from the anatomy practice, that would be a hassle.

Bonus: here's the old version:

Lol....xD!
Mischievous lil reflection isn't...it!...?...Or she...??..Lol...

I love how you're getting better at the people and the background(s) to blend together! :D
Defiantly MUCH better than the original one, and I love the whole feel of the background! The reflections in the water are lovely!
Only thing I see as of now if her reflection's legs seem a little off center, not like she's leaning but like they are placed a little too far over...Idk could be my eyes and 12:22 am. xD

Probably one of my favorites! Nice work! ^_^ :) :D

Thanks for the comment ;)

I think I see what you mean by the reflection's legs. The reflection is a bit translucent. I think, maybe, I made one side of her body less visible than the other. Oops :) I'm glad you noticed that.

Did I not comment on this already ... hmm, maybe not.

I like this! Apart from the "action" here, I like the overall warm colour tones. That along with the pool gives a peaceful feeling that is sort of a contrapoint to the events taking place.

The small figures by the house in the distance are visible in the large version, they feel like a "bonus" thing to look for rather than being of actual import in the image; from your description I guess that was the intention.

Cool work here. :D

There was an older version I made right around the time I first started posting here. I joined in 2009, posted one or two artworks, then didn't come back until last Summer. I don't think this one was one of the two I posted, but maybe it was.

Glad you like it :) I purposely tried to set up a peaceful mood, just because I thought the contrast would be amusing... so I'm happy to hear that came across. You're right about my intentions with the little figures, too. On occasion I've hidden Waldo (Wally in Europe, I believe) in the backgrounds.
