I'm having an issue when I go back and forth between my paint brush tool and my eraser tool. Ever since I got 2.8 installed, the brush size is the same for all tools. When I had 2.6, if I was working with my paint brush and had it at a small brush size, then turned my pen over to the eraser and I would have that tool's brush size to be much bigger. I wouldn't have to keep on adjusting the size every time I flipped my pen. Ever since I got 2.8, I've had to keep on adjusting the brush size because the brush size stays the same, and doens't stay set for each tool. If anyone can help me, it'd be great. I'm using windows 7, am using an intous4 tablet and pen, had installed the latest wacom update, the latest gimp obviously with what I believe to be the binary and source code. I've been having an issue with this for some time, and could use some help.

I tend to agree, also I find the sliders for adjusting brush size a nuisance but;
How are you restoring the brush size? do you use the restore buttons?

Very quick, especially when using a tablet.
edit:
Looks like another learning curve.
In Gimp 2.6 I never used tool presets, looks like it is the way to go in 2.8.
http://docs.gimp.org...-presets-dialog
http://docs.gimp.org...set-editor.html
seems to be the way of restoring a brush size & properties.
Edit again.
Pre-sets full of annoyances.
I'm using linux here and even making the default folder writable does not allow me to edit from gimp.
No problem, made a couple in my local pre-sets folder as an example. At least they are text files and editable.

On my intuos4 tablet there is a quick functions ring you slide your finger on to pick between options you'd like to use. It has auto scrool/zoom, cycle layers, brush size, and canvas rotation. I would adjust my brush size with that. The only reason I wanted to upgrade to 2.8 in the first place, is because my canvas rotation never rotated my canvas in gimp. If 2.8 is going to be difficult and wont let me just turn my pen around so I can erase with the right brush size, and go back to my pen at it's own brush size, then I'm just going to go back to 2.6. I don't think it's worth the trouble. Don't wanna go through extra loop holes. Thank you for the reply, it was helpful.
