I'm rather proud of the shading of this drawing! Especially the chain around his neck.

Please CnC! And thank you for the view! =D

Homestar Runner (well. Coach Z)

@Moko

That's pretty cool! As for masculine features - I'd suggest more square angles. Women tend to have softer angles in their faces and other corners, as they have a higher ideal body fat percentage than men do.

I don't think you necessarily need "harsh" lines (although maybe I'm thinking that means something other than what you mean).

Here's an example of what I mean. Most superhero characters are drawn to "ideal" proportions - so while for realism you'd probably want to tone it down a notch, superhero drawings make the differences between men and women's bodies very clear.

Here's Superman: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman

See how his chin is L shaped? His jaw bone, under his ear, is also mostly a right angle.

If you look up Supergirl: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supergirl
compare her face to Superman's. The angles are much softer. Her chin and jaw are much rounder. She also has a rounder nose, while Superman's is more square.

I'd say those are the two extremes of the spectrums of facial features. Real people's features could fall anywhere in the middle - but I'd imagine most often clearly on the male or female side.
