drawing is easier in version 2.8 - (newbie-question)

hello dear folks

well i am currently doing a headstart to gimp - by the way shhould i upgrade from version 2.6 to 2.8.?

can i do works like drawing (see the example) better with 2.8.?
Well i need to have some ideas - how are the steps to draw such a simple picture!? look forward to hear from you

AFAIK 2.8 has issues with tablets so if you draw with one you have better stick with 2.6 for the time being.

I'm having no problems with the Cintiq 12WX.

@ the original poster, there's probably a crayon or pastel dynamic you could draw with. If one doesn't come stock, dig around the net a bit. It has to be out there.

No problems to report here either, I'm using 2.8 and a WACOM Pen and Touch - on Windows 7 64bit.
