i just play around with GIMP and do some graphic works – in order to get familiar with GIMP
I want to create a image where i have some balls – in a randomized fashion -

can i tell G I M P that it draws colored balls in the field in such a randomized fashion -
Some buddies gave me hints - but unformtinalley i did not manage it to nail down all the issues.

well is this possible !? If not: Plz let me know how you would do this - to draw images in a randomized fashion.

Would you do it
1. drawing balls without color (defining a ball its certain size
2. defining the area where the ball is - within the whole field.
3. adding the color

How would you do the job...!? CAn you give me a helping hand - and give me some exampleshow you would solve the isse

Love to hear from you

BTW; see a example … http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream

i need a similar one - that has also such crazy balls in it!? Is this dooabel look forward to hear from you
to see some of your examples.. .

greetings unleash

--------------------------------------------------------

- take a circular brush
- change its spacing to something large (1000%)(the spacing spinner goes up to 200, but you can enter directly larger values)
- create/select gradient with required colors
- start the brush tool
- tick "use color from gradient"
- open the brush dynamics and set the color to "random"

Wiggle the mouse over the canvas.

Ofnuts, that's great and all assuming OP is using 2.6. After 2.8 the game changed.

hello many many thnanks - great to see such well described example - again thankx

btw.- Between 2.6 and 2-8 there seems to be a major shift and guess that 2.8 has many new features...

Yes,brush dynamics are a bit different because they can be more complex, but the same principle holds... you just have to figure out how to make a brush with a random color from gradient.
