I thought I'd share some of my stuff, so here's a collection of works I did recently for an exhibition. In terms of technical info they were all painted at around about 4000px by 2200px in about one to two hours, though a couple ran up to three I think.

Anyhow, critiques are welcome :) You can be honest, I can take it.

I've also recorded one of the paintings and condensed it into a four minute or so time-lapse:
Time-lapse:

This final one was done at 1920x1200 in just under an hour in front of a live audience at the exhibition as part of Art Wars; a live competition between artists. It used no reference.

Some very beautiful nature scenes here. I especially like your shadows and play of light. The use of what I suppose is a hard-edged brush to lay down flat colour here and there is quite impressive for the realism it produces - makes it look easy. :)

Cool with medieval soldiers/knights in here as well.

Out of curiosity, are the nature images done based off a reference?

Thanks :) Yeah, they had indirect reference such as lighting reference or vegetation types but the actual scenes are all original. The final painting had no reference at all because I painted it out the front of a studio and only had a laptop.

WhooooooooooooooooooaaAAAAAAAAAAA! Your work is breathtaking! Do you know those moments where your brain is confused, and you have to look at a drawing again to make sure it is not a picture? That is exactly what just happened to me.

Although it's not only the realism what caught my attention, it's the whole atmosphere. Each picture's framing, shadows and palette tell a whole story. For example, the first drawing feels melancholic, desolated, as if the knight and his captives were heading towards an inevitable and hopeless destiny. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea :)

My onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnly critique is about the human figures. They often look a bit too stiff, as if they were wooden puppets.

These are great! I love the way how you draw the shadows and the light. Your work is really inspiring!
