Folks,
I've seen an effect in wallpapers that is a trace of a photo that transforms it into a plasma effect.
For example, this: http://wallbase.cc/wallpaper/131722
is transformed into this: http://wallbase.cc/wallpaper/798011
It looks to me like this was done with a plugin of some kind. I've looked for a plgin for gimp and come up empty. Any ideas how this might be done? If it's done in a photoshop plugin any ideas which one and how i can convert it?
Thanks for the hand-holding. I'm a gimp newbie.

This is the fractalius plugin: http://www.redfieldp...rFractalius.htm
You can get similar effects with GMIC and the Rodilius Filter: http://www.flickr.co...57627650962309/

I third Rodillius (G'MIC). I think, in many respects, it's superior to Fractillus and you can't beat the price (Thanks Rod).
