Thats my result... you said to tweak.. so i did :h: I forgot what I did... but it was a mistake that turned out looking good, so I kept it. For some reason instead of making a pillar of LIGHT it was a pillar of darkness.... so I moved it behind the render and added a pillar af light in front of the render and voila!

Nice tut. But I don't really like the final result. It might look a little better if instead of using a white-black gradient, use a white-transparent one. That way you still get the light effect without completely blacking out part of you sig...

Hehe, feels like I'm spamming upp this thread. But anyways, I just wanted to say that even though a white-black gradient blocks out parts of your sig, that doesn't neccessarily have to be a bad thing. I think it's good to have some negative space in your sig, otherwise it'll be too busy, and the eye won't really know what to look at first. But on the other hand, if you wanna show of all your brushwork, it might be good to use a white-transparent gradient.
It's always good to experiment, just remember that just 'cause parts of the sig doesn't show, it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
