I am making a poster but not very experienced with GIMP. If someone could help me I would be SO grateful!
I want it to look like this: http://arriba.com.ua/images/Brik2B.jpg (the text in the middle)
The perspective tool doesn't work because it makes it unreadable as the text I want to use is quite long - 3 words long.
Thanks in advance!

Saul Goode has a script that should do the job.

see http://registry.gimp.org/node/24568 and read the instructions
here are some screenshots of the process.
OH, imgur overloaded, try this
http://www.imgplace....eewordslong.jpg
If that fails read the registry notes a couple of times.
EDIT:
The angle of the original poster is a bit extreame, not so good for more than a word or two. You probably came up against this with the perspective tool.
Maybe try adding some extra spaces in the first word.
Alternative, always be willing to try something else. LibreOffice Draw has a 'word-art' function. Easy to make and save as a png for use in gimp.
Added this as an inset at the bottom of screenshots.
