So, here are a few of my first sigs. Not my absolute firsts, but pretty close.

Any feedback/suggestions? I found it hard to add foregrounds to these. :(

I like #1 the most it looks the most blended and best execution. It looks like you have the basic idea of a tag down, you just need some tutorials. pretty cool clipping masks. Major suggestion: learn the rule of 3rds. Keep practicing and keep up the good work.

PS: Darkness totally owns aether :3

I will check out some of the tutorials, Ive used a few and they definitely make the sigs better.

I know the rule of 3rds, but unfortunately seem to forget to apply it often :S

Thanks!

P.S. Rainbow all the way :o

Sharpen up the first two. As mentioned by West, you should be using the Rule od Thirds. If you're forgetting, write it on a sticky note on your desktop or something, it's very important, and the lack of it kills the first and last. Moving on, the first two are monotone, meaning there's pretty much only one color. Different values of the same color, sure, but the same color nonetheless. All of these renders are hard to work with. If you're familiar with flow, find a render that has definitive flow. (If you don't know what that means, just ask, but it's pretty obvious, really.) The middle one is too small, and the last is much too big (And the worst render out of the bunch ;D). Considering your experience, the effects are pretty good. Work on foreground effects as well. I realize you mentioned you found it hard for these, but you'll find it easier when you use a good render and things. ::) Good work.

Cheers!

I am not so good at the planning part lol. I just choose a random render I like and try to make something out of it, I will follow your advice and pick some renders more suitable for the effects. As for the colors, I'll do my best improving those, I've only ever made black and white things before recently, so I don't really know what colors go well together :/ (since I generally use pencil). Thanks.

EDIT: I'll just use a color wheel to see what colors go well together :D

you do not have to ADD rule of 3rds, its mainly a guide, IMO if you use rule of 3rds in your work all the time it'll become boring *not fresh* soo my advise *its your call to take it or not :) * is to mix it up..dont over do the rule of 3rds, i see many sig makers *whos masters btw* dont even go with using rule of 3rds all the way..thats why its very i,portent to mix it up.

the first is monotone? i thought for it to be it has to be the same color *meaning the render as well* since the render isnt means its not.

Maybe try the replication-smudging technique, then add some C4D's.

Edit: If you're looking for the right colours to match your render, that is.

Lol, I have heard about the rule of thirds, but honestly, I looked at all the words on wikipedia, and said screw it, I like the way my stuff is. However, if I am using the Rule of Thirds or not, I dunno, but I am happy with my work, and if you are happy with the way your work turns out, then don't follow no rules, do what makes it fun for you :)
