Hi. My name is Julio, I just created my account here, this is my first topic, I'm from Brazil, in fact I don't speak much English, but I think I know enough to communicate here, 14 years playing video games teach you something XD. Well I started using Gimp two days ago and I don't have any experience with image edition programs, but I liked this one, quite simple to use it but I have a lot to learn yet. So I know that's not the right place for introductions but I can do two things at once, and I'm going to show you one of my first editions, could be better but I was a little tired and for the second day using Gimp I think it's good enough. I changed the hair and eyes color from you will know who soon and I think it's not bad for a beginner. So take a look at it, place your comments here and till next time !!!

Yeah I saw that, as I said could be better, but it's a bit difficult to paint all the hair without painting anything else. With some more practice and maybe new techniques I believe that it will become easier. That's why I'm here, to learn some new tricks.

I have one little tip for you, don't paint the hair, my suggestion, is to use the lasso tool, and zoom in A LOT like 300x-500x This may seem over done, but when you get to those little individual strands you had trouble with this will help. Now go around the entire hair, getting even those small strands, but here is a tip, don't go over the split in the hair, because when you add the color, it will look very bad like it did in that one. Once you have done this, take the desired color in a huge brush, i use 5000 px (because i work with VERY large pictures) and then cover the selection (in a new layer) and then do Shift + CTRL + A (or select > None). After that, then change your layer mode to Hue, this won't give a drastic color change usually, but it makes it look natural, not like Katy Perry.

Also, Welcome to the site!
