A true innovator. Even if you're 'PC' you can't deny the impact Steve Jobs is responsible for in the world of technology. Revolutionizing the way we listen to music with the iPod, issuing in the start of the smartphone revolution with the iPhone, and so much more. The world has lost a titan of technological evolution.

What a sad, sad, day. My iPod is my life, and without, I'd probably die.

So yeah, this sucks.

How astute of you to notice. Yes, people die all the time, and we pay our respects to them and their work when they do.

I second SL.

Even if you're 'PC' you can't deny the impact Steve Jobs is responsible for in the world of technology.

He brought the Graphical User Interface - a visual, mouse-driven interface - on to the computing scene, something that has stayed with computers decades later.
He revolutionized the way people listen to music with the iPod.
The iPhone bought something hugely new entirely to the smartphone industry.
He showed that technology and minimalist beauty can sit on the same pedestal.

I still prefer Windows over Mac OS myself, but it's impossible to deny the merits that Apple brought to a different side of the computer-buying market.

There would be no Zune without the iPod.

It's a sad day indeed. Apple has been a big part of our family, we would always sit down as a family to watch Steve give keynotes and such. As said, regardless of what you think of Macs, or iPods, or anything, you can't deny the impact he's had on the world, and that he really was a good guy. Rest in peace. =/

Douglas Engelbart invented the mouse...

He did revolution the computer and smart phone industry; however, I can not say if he was a nice guy or not, because the stuff I've read about him does not describe him of being a nice person.
