Every so often, however, Gimp loses my colour palette (palette editor), forcing me to add it again. And it's always my colour palette (palette editor).

Gimp in Linux (Mint 11), I've customised my toolbar layout and am happy. Gimp remembers my settings and things tend to be fine.
Every so often, however, Gimp loses my colour palette (palette editor), forcing me to add it again. And it's always my colour palette (palette editor).

No idea... tried a couple of scenarios (like deleting the palette loaded by the editor) and couldn't reproduce. You would have to collect successive versions of your ~/.gimp-2.6/sessionrc file and see, when this happens, if the palette editor wasn't saved in the file, or if it is ignored on Gimp startup.
