Of course I mean Americans!

if this looks familiar, thats because I used some of greentunics 'flower' tutorial (mainly just the smudge settings and the iwarp idea, I went on my own from there....it was scary D:). I have not used the jitter effect in my smudging in a long time, and quite frankly it comes in a lot of handy when you want to shake up the effects a bit (no pun intended)

this didn't take that long actually. (hope it doesn't look rushed) The sig had been sitting with a BG and the focal for a while now, finally did something with it. Thanks Tunic!

oh, by the way, Captain America was phenomenal. I highly recommend it. And also, out of curiosity, if there are any non-Americans out there who saw it I'm curious to what you thought of it. I'd be interesting to see a non-American view on Captain America.

Love the tag, its not overly complicated and packed full like some of your tags are. The smudging is great, fantastic composition.

I don't like the render for this one just because fof the colors.
You can crop the left side a little.
And a better use rule of thirds would fit here.

Noneless great signature :D.

I can't say I've ever had the rule of thirds in mind while making a signature, ever.

The colors blended more before I adjusted with color gradients. The gradient I used for the BG was red and blue, but eh, I don't think the colors clash too much.

and thanks for comment fang

Yea, the rule of thirds is not always the best thing to follow. It can be helpful, but sticking to it like a fly on glue will only detract. "They're more like guidelines."

There really isn't that much to critique here. I'd maybe have used less of the body and increased the size a bit, but that's a personal choice and not really a fault. You might crop a bit from the left, but it won't kill you without it. Overall, a really solid tag.

The background is the only bit I don't like...too colourful I think?
Also it's kinda pinky whereas the rest isn't.
However
LOVE THE SMUDGING DUUUDE plus the colours on Captain America are ah-maze-ing.
More!!

appreciate the feedback guys. @karicat, my original intention with BG was to make it more American-y. So I wanted blue and red, but me, not thinking much, did some color layers and messed the whole patriotic thing up.

and doing this style was fun, I may do more, but I don't want to overuse the style, which isn't mine. Maybe do some more Avengers and such, who knows.

The solid purplish background seems kind of weird next to the chaotic effects.
And the effects look a bit too Iwarped near the outer edges.
Other than that, it's pretty cool.
I like the font.

It's cool looking, but the fg stands out way too much from the bg, making it look pretty empty.

Yes but the width was the problem so putting it more on the right is a little better.

Putting it more on the right just would've disrupted the flow and effects and had the left side even more empty. All it needed was a crop on the left to even the effects to a more proportional range.

It's fine as is. The rule of thirds is a way to slightly improve composition and focus in some cases, it is not a strict rule you must adhere by. It's more of a simple guideline for composition. Stop complaining and arguing over it.

Funny members we have here.
Anyways, the sig is pretty good, very nice smudging and the choice of colours.
Though, I do agree with DeathKillington, the background is slightly empty.

I think you have something good here but there is something that i am not fond of. i kind of wish the background effects were not as linear as they are. but in a more swirly/curvy type flow ation that reached to the the empty space on the right. I think the smudging and colors that you have in here are excellent as always, but just would like a better execution on the effects, but then again this is my personal preference here talking haha!

I agree with most of the thread. Effect are cool, the background isn't. You gotta get a V2 with a better bg up it would look freshh.

know this is an old thread but i must add something, maybe adding a space stock Iwarp it *shrink it* to somewhat matck the i guess its a c4d behind capt america? :P that should be alot better, as for rule of 3rds...after awhile it gets old IMO of course so in my work i dont do it all the time..try mix it up by not doing rule of 3rds all the time..sure its greast to have but IMHO its not all that great and at times can be dull if used all the time.

LOL excuyse me for using *all the time* so much, took my meds am some what high atm so.

I like it, I love the background is more empty, this is just personal preference though, I don't like when the background is sooo overpowering, that it takes away from the whole meaning of the work, which is why my text in my sigs, are always faded, and I try my best to keep the intensity level of the background down. Granted, his background could've used maybe a Noise Pick, and maybe a very light CG, but honestly, I wouldn't change it if this were mine, not right away at least. So sometimes, less is more, less background, more focus on everything that took the most work, good job, and keep it up!
