Hi everyone

I'm trying to achieve a tilable fog effect using "Filters > Render > Clouds > Fog". If I use the filter "Filters > Render > Clouds > Solid Noise... " then there is an option to make the image tilable, so I'm wondering how I might achieve the same thing with the Fog filter.

Looking at the image produced by the Solid Noise filter, it's really similar to that of the Fog filter, and you can get it look almost the same by just modifying X-size, Y-size and Detail. Does the fog filter just use the Solid Noise filter and putting in suitable parameters? If so, does anyone know what those parameters are (so I can exactly reproduce the fog effect using the Solid Noise filter)?

Thanks in advance!

One of the things I do is to go to Render > Clouds > Solid noise. Click make tileable, then change the settings so that black looks like the fogginess you want. Click OK. Then Colors > Color to Alpha and be sure white is the color in the color box.

Now, you are left with black fog. If you want a different color, click the Lock (transparency) box and use the Bucket tool to fill the layer with your color. You'll get so you know how to do it better after a few tries.

Good luck!

Why are people posting these things three-at-a-time?

Huh? I don't understand what you mean Demented.

Edit: Ah! I see what you mean. I browsed the forum. There is no way to report a post anymore so can't alert mods to the duplicates.

I see big yellow "Report" buttons on the left of each post. Do those no longer work?

LOL I think I need my glasses checked. I'm not used to looking to the left for that button. Thanks Demented.
