Don't trust most sources of information. No matter how reliable they have been in the past. Almost every piece of information about the PSN outage is false.
Unless it comes from here it should not be trusted.

Full PSN Service Will Return “By May 31st”
PSN may not be back for another 3 weeks, that’s according to a recently published Bloomberg report. In a phone interview with Shigenori Yoshida (who is credited as a Sony spokesman), Bloomberg was told full PSN service is scheduled to resume by May 31st. Of course it’s still possible that things like online play and trophy syncing might return before the last day of the month but after the 3 week delay that we’ve HAD TO ENDURE WITHOUT CREDIBLE UPDATES OR INFORMATION!!!!
You fail your customers SONY, all my ps plus games are now expired, I would like a full year of ps plus free and $100 psn credit put into my wallet, cause now i will have to redownload all those games and I have like 20 of em.
I go by the motto: SUPPORT THOSE THAT SUPPORT YOU!!!
Obviously YOU DON’T!!!

Sony hasn't officially said anything about dates.
Their latest blog update said something about the coming days. Could be a couple more days. Or a week. Dunno.
But even if they were getting it fully restored on the 31st. Online gaming will be up before then. They aren't just releasing it all at the same time. They will be gradually releasing different features of PSN as they test them and can confirm they are safe and secure.
Ben- Normal PSN users will get Playstation Plus for a month, current Plus users will get an extension, members will get a choice of two free games from a list of five to download, Sony gave PSN members free credit monitoring for a year with like 1 million dollar insurance if anything happened, and PSN has some music thing that you have to pay for. So current members of that will also get an extension.
