Hi,

I used Inkscape as a final solution to the stylisation of photographs.
Some photos we took came too dark, or even distorted.
So we went for the process of redrawing / retracing vector by vector.

Stylisations. Here are my examples

Kitchen Sinks

I made into this:

I made this:

More examples (without the original photo)

Mineral Water Bottle

Jug of Ice Water

The last two examples were the hardest.
Reflection is very hard to achieve with Inkscape.
And what is even harder than Reflections? Light Blur and Refraction!

I used Inkscape. And used Gimp to crop and save it to jpegs.

Wow amazing!
The kitchen sink looks way more futuristic!
How many colors does the svg have? And is every color like as big as the picture? I tried to use vectorize bitmap once and there the color paths were way bigger than the needed to be.

Was your workflow at the and of the pictures ok, or did inkscape make problems? If not, could you tell me on what computer you worked on?

Really great work, must have been lots of work!

I did it by hand. The process took me weeks to complete.

I used Linux.

I used many layers - over 20+. So yes, in the end Inkscape started becoming very very slow.

It's the blur that makes Inkscape slow. It was very hard, but very good practise.

You did this all by hand  Now I'm really amazed!
I was sure that you used an automatic vectorization, especially at the jug of water. This is so realistic and perfect, I love the reflection at the bottom and the outline of the upper part, wonderful!

I did it by hand.

Incredible! How did you make the sink look so much lighter with Inkscape? I know how to do it im GIMP, but frankly I'm clueless with Inkscape.
