Creating Spikey Brushes

Here's one of the things I ended up with:

EDIT-After experimenting and thinking a little bit, I realized that you could make the brush more complex simply by adding multiple layers of the Flame render, and playing with the camera settings to fill as much of the screen as possible:

I get an error when i come to save it

GIMP brush Message
GIMP brushes are either grayscale or RGBA

GIMP Message

Saving (quotes the location of my brushes folder and the file name which i am trying to save in it) failed:

Plug-in coiuld not save image


What am i doing wrong?


EDIT: By the way i never flattened the image as there was only one layer and when i clicked flatten the background turned white :c:

Hey, George.

You still have to flatten the image and convert to a grayscale image. Even though you only see one layer, an alpha channel still exists which needs to be removed. You can't leave out steps, even when they don't seem logical.

Try this and see if it helps.

I made the brush successfully, but when I opened a new image so I could test it, it wasn't there. I refreshed my brushes but it didn't work. (The brushes refreshed, but the spikey brush wasn't there)

Someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

I can do all the steps until I finish the part where you exit the flame tool. Should the brush come up on the image thing?

Hi there! First of all sorry for off-top, but i thought maybe it'll be useful for you to get to know about the proggy that lets you find duplicate files and folders easily. I hope itll be useful.
