Gimp Gap Error

Well I've never had any problems with Gap on my Windows machine, but I just tried converting this video I made in Blender to a GIF in Gimp using GAP on my Ubuntu 10.04 machine, and I got this error.

The file is a .avi, and I know avi's work as I've done it on my windows machine, it doesn't matter what file type I convert it to it's not working on Linux. How can I fix this???

Are you using "Video->Split video into frames"? "Extract Videorange"? Or "Mplayer base extraction"?

In my estimation, the problem lies with Ubuntu's packaging of the FFMPEG utility and satisfying version dependencies of the requisite codecs. I would recommend finding a different source for the package; barring that, compile GAP from the source code yourself.
