Hi everyone, i'm new here, and I'm very new to GIMP. I just had a question i hope to have answered...
I want to take the logo from the image below, (the part of the image "ZELDA" with all the squiggly purple designs around it) and I want make it into just a white background with the logo on top of it. So, in short, i want to remove the picture with the buildings and stuff from the back of it, and just keep the straight logo with a white/transparent background.

Now, since i am very new to GIMP, I was wondering if someone could explain the simplest way possible of accomplishing this task, because honestly, i don't know where to start. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Please check the "Methods for removing backgrounds from images" thread, which is stickied at the top of this help forum.

Also, I'm assuming that's a fan-made image since there is no such official Zelda game. Do you know who created the image? Maybe you could ask them if they saved a copy of the logo without the background.

Ohh ok, sorry about that, i will definitely check the sticky. No it is not a real game, it was a trick made by some random guy on the internet, that's a good idea, i'll see if i can find him and ask.
