Downloaded this one a few hours ago after reading your post PC but forgot to reply. Didn't think David was going to release .3 so soon before his vacation starts. Haven't really played with it but it seams pretty good. Thanks for the heads up. :)

My first message was ready to be ported to newer gmic releases, just by edit the version number in the title (the download link are automatically updated) :D

Wondered how you did it PC. lol
Was surprised to get the email notification for 1.3.8 when I didn't subscribe to that thread (since it didn't at the time exist). :)

Dear all,
I'm happy to announce the release of the 1.3.9.0 version of the G'MIC package, containing as always, the command line executable as well as the plug-in for GIMP.
Several improvements have been done in this release, mainly bug corrections and optimizations. Some new filters have been introduced, leading to about 180 filters defined in the plug-in, and more than 500 individual commands available with the command-line version.
I think this 1.3.9.0 version is quite stable now. Feel free to test it and report problems if any. There will be probably 1.3.9.x updates in the future (but after my holidays please :) ).
Hope you'll appreciate this version.
Cheers,

Can I post help for this here? Been trying to get it to work for a couple of days, but I don't really know what I'm doing.
I'm running a Mac X11. After unpacking the zip file, I'm running .configure. Then I get the error msg
How do I adjust the Pk_Config_Path,or "set" the variable Cflags and Libs? (I can't find the mentioned 'pkg-config man' - I've unzipped and browsed the man that comes with gmic, but it doesn't make much sense to me, I'm afraid).
Or am I just supposed to put all the files in the unzip'd directory somewhere? I've tried sticking them in the plug-ins folder, but no joy (I can't get GAP running on my mac, either, but that's another thing - tho' I suspect the solution to one could give me a clue to the solution to the other?).
Any help much appreciated (mods, if I'm in the wrong place, apologies. Kindly move, thanks!)

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GIMP_CFLAGS
and GIMP_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
