But can you guys do it step by step or something? I have the Abr thing going. I kept trying over and over to get the thing in gimp. I did it refreshed, closed and opened again. Nothing worked. Help? (sighs) I did everything you guys said.
I went through almost all of the procedures except step 10.
I clicked scritp-fu and I didn't see gimp-talk.com or the brush-batch thing.
Such a simple step and I can't even do it because I don't see the "gimp-talk.com".
I'm so close to getting this one photoshop brush and I CAN'T GET IT!

Can someone please help me? :c:

First The script fu has to be downloaded and installed
Then a new version of gimp must come out very soon (is already out but only as "beta" it needs some more testing to become a stable version) and is supposed to be compatible with PS brush, if i well understand with PS brush compatible with PS7 and previous

Oh! I've heard of the newer version of GIMP coming out.
I actually came across a download page for it and it did indeed say it was unstable.
Was kind of worried about that.

But where do I download the script-fu from? Can I google it?

hi great script. i have converted a few over already using the current gimp stable release. however it doesn't work in gimp 2.4. i think its due to gimp 2.4rc2 or 2.4rc3 using TinyFu. maybe its just a prob with the release candidites.

This may not be the place to ask this (first post et al) but as this thread is all about importing photoshop brushes, I've read on these forums that the brushes that come with the gimp cannot be resized but i also seem to be experiencing the same with imported brushes; can these not be resized? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Um, yes they can. But I don't think they're vector-based [at least not after you're done with them], so if you scaled them bigger, they'd be pixelated. [I think.] You just have to locate the brush file, open it in GIMP, scale it, and save it as a different brush file.

Is there any plan in the future for making Gimp brushes vector based? I think this is the first major issue I've seen with Gimp that has really bothered me.

Gimp already has sort of vector brushes ( just click new brush, in the brush dialog ) and they are very handy

Only limitation about possible shapes, till now spirals and circle or polygon with holes inside are not supported

Anyway if you want use vectorial tools at full power you may better look for something as Inkscape

I really only needed the vector thing for the brushes, I'm working on an art piece that has lots of brushes in lots of different sizes so was looking for an easy way to change the brushes I had on the fly. Looks like I may simply have to do it all by file editing.

Inkscape is good, but the piece I'm doing has some non-vector parts; as I said the brushes were what I didn't know about. Thanks anyway.

Okey I'm having the same problem since upgrading to GIMP 2.4, the batch processing script is not working and when I try to make use of it I get the previous error message I have copied from a previous post. I can stil make brushes one by one in the Edit menu, but I have a bunch of brushes that I would like to have converted to make use of them as needed.

Anyone has an idea of why the batch processing script is no longer working?:o:

Help would be very much appreciated. :l:
