1. select your color and a soft brush.
2. make new layer on top of your sig.
3.brush on your render or focal somewhere noticable.
4.set layer mode on dodge at around 70%.

While this may give you a nice adjustment layer, it is not a good simulation of a photoshop photofilter.
The best way I've seen is to fill a layer with your color and set to overlay 10%.

A photoshop photo-filter covers the whole thing... you can erase it if you want.
Anywho... overlay 10% still.

regardless, 70% dodge is a very strong layer; even as an adjustment, so I'm with Inward on the 10% overlay.
