I love the effect, it's really sharp looking.

Hi Mike

:) I love this tutorial. I have been looking for something like this, to use as a background in banners. Thankyou. :P

I've tried it out and get stuck when I get to the importing image into fire frames.

This is gonna sound dumb but how do I import my image into the fire background and how do I paste the image into each fire frame layer? :?:

I'm fairly new to GIMP and still learning the in's and out's of it.

Could you post instructions for a nob like me? Please :!: :!: :!:

Actually, the script will do everything for you. Mike created a new transparent image, ran the script on that image, and then imported the original image as stated in the tutorial description above , and manually copied the frames. There's no need to do that. Open up the image you want to have fire behind and run the script on that image. The "Add Active Layer to Animation?" setting is default set to "Above Animation Using Blend Mode Below" and automatically adds your active layer above the animated flames.

Hi Art

Thank you for clarifiying that for me, and for taking the time to help me out. I was getting very frustrated trying to follow Mike's tutorial.

You animated fire script is excelent as is all your work. Thank you.

I will now try it again.

Although I didn't cut out the image too well.

I just noticed something about the "bad cuts" on the render....where the white shows around the hair, there is something going on that looks like fire reflections. So.....there might be a way to capitalize on that effect. I don't know if it is caused by the fire script or the text animation, but it's sort of cool.
