Can't let Newt have it all his own way.
A simple painting with some Artistic filters applied (These are the Base Gimp Filters, as supplied in basic Gimp downloads) I called it

"Flight....well almost!"

Btw, here is a question, does the painting have to be made completly in GIMP?

Preferably. There's no way we can really enforce it, but it would be nice to know we have a gallery of GIMP-made artworks to show off to people.

Well, there are plenty of technology-related ways you could represent it, but if you remember that it isn't necessarily a computer-related phrase, that opens up more possibilities. Anything that's a problem in a system will work; even a clumzy football player messing up a play, or something like that.

Well the easy ones are politics, ok any government type of thing, religion, love, etc.
Anything that might be perfect if it weren't for some glaring problem.

Due to lack of entries, Round #008 will be extended to Friday the 12th. (C'mon, nobody likes to win by default. I assume...)

@Noah S.
Speaking of "glitch in the system".
Think it should go to monthly?
Well it is the holidays....

Hehe, probably. :D I was thinking that's probably why no one else entered (that's why I wasn't able to, in fact).

Were you thinking of making the deadline the end of this month?

Edit: Hey, Graia913, I think your earlier version was much better. The new one is too blurry, and has lost the "80s magazine ad" feel, in my opinion.

Yes, I know, the graphics are shockingly terrible, but I like the concept.

@Noah S
Ehh thats up to you, but I think 2 weeks is fine. Then again it could be for the end of the month because of the time of year... unless you want to have another before Christmas.

@Graia913
Yeah they both feel kinda eighties-ish, then again im feeling nostalgic, I just saw "Tron" again.

@Pixelated
Nice going, nice use of blends, and some paths work as well?
