This forum is for posting and getting comments on your digital artwork, "large pieces", paintings and similar artwork created with GIMP.

No signatures should be posted in this forum, instead post them in the Signature / Footer galleries forum.

To publish your images here you need to host them somewhere on the web and link to them from your post. There are plenty of free image hosts that allow you to this at no charge. Search on Google for image host for a vast selection. See our FAQ for more help.

Also if you have your image hosted on an external site like DeviantArt, we nevertheless recommend you do not only give the link to it but that you also put up at least a thumbnail of your image in your post. Remember that people are lazy and are much more likely to comment on your work if they have an idea of what it looks like without having to click yet another link. Most free image hosts automatically create thumbnails for you.

General posting guidelines:

[*:3uymleex] GIMPtalk is open to users of all ages and nationalities. Images showing nudity or any form of sexual content is not allowed, nor links to such content unless such links are clearly marked and motivated. Use caution and warn in the title if the image depicts possibly sensitive subjects such as extreme violence, gore or the like.
[*:3uymleex] Images or posts condoning or encouraging illegal activities are not allowed.
[*:3uymleex] Do not use bad and/or strong language in your posts nor in the topic title or in links.
[*:3uymleex] Write constructive criticism if feedback is requested by the poster. If you feel an urge to flame, just don't post. Read the stickied On giving and taking critique for more guidelines about commenting and getting comments.

Overall, use your common sense to understand what works and what does not for an all-age content site like this.

A add on

Some "free" image host sides, as hidden price, add ads and pop out thingies when displaying the images.

This is already annoying for "normal " ads, but we can't tolerate in case of xxx ads.

So that will force us to remove your post or your links, (in resource board are links for many ad-free image host )

(Take care, you may not see what kind of ads may be displayed to others with your image, even checking ,since good browsers block most of ads and pop out windows.....but so many use still crap as IE and are unprotected ...and they will often suppose that the XXX ads pop out for your will, or for effect of your hacks )

Hello!
I cannot find a button to upload attachements and the link to 'Art galleries'
leads only back to the forum.
Did I miss something?
Regardz,

zour,

GIMP Talk doesn't host files. If you want to share your work, you have to host them elsewhere (like Flickr, deviantArt, Photo Bucket, etc) and use the "img" tag to link it in your posts.

Hello, I was wondering if we could also post unfinished work in the Gallery to get input, or is there another place for that?

Sure, that's fine. People post up 'work-in-progress's all the time to get advice on finishing them. (:
