
[*] Go to Script-Fu> Alpha to Logo> Gradient Bevel. Set the values as shown below and click OK

Your Layers, Channels, and Paths window should now look like this:

[*] Delete the "Blur" and "Background" layers. Now you should just have the text layer
[*] Go to Filter> Enhance> Sharpen. Set the value to 80 or until it looks close to the following:

[*] Now go to Image> Adjustsments> Curves. Click on the exact center of the grid and move your cursor to some other location inside the grid, as shown below:

[*] Now in place of where you moved your cursor there should be a black dot, called a vertex. Drag the vertex to the position shown below:

[*] Click OK and you're done! You may then move add any other layers you want behind the to create cool loking sigs. Here's one I made a few days before:

I won't get into the details about how I made this image, but I'll tell you that I simply added a Motion-blured duplicate of the text behind it. Then I added another background layer I had pre-made earlier.
