Quick Pixel Stretch Method

If you haven't seen Kytayle's Pixel Stretch sig tutorial, you can view it here: http://www.gimptalk....?a=v&t=762&f=14
His tutorial discusses creating an entire pixel-stretch sig. Mine only addresses a very easy way to create/apply the pixel stretch, without the actual "stretching" part. Please review his steps for selecting the area you want to "stretch".
Once you've got the area, go to the Script-FU menu | Selection | To Pattern
Give it a name and let GIMP do the rest. It will automatically save the area as a pattern and refresh your patterns you it's ready to use!
Now apply the newly created pattern to a new layer and there you have the "stretch" without the "stretch." :w: You can either keep your pattern when you're finished or delete it. It's entirely up to you.
Sorry if this has already been covered before. I checked but couldn't find it.

I might've messed it up... But thats kinda why i had to play with it to get it right. And i think this was a bad render for that. Not enough color. But oh, well...
i know this thread is 6 years old LOL but i MUST do this...you can still add color by grabing the color picker pick out the same color of the blue and put dots and smudge it in OR motion blur it to the same direction of the flow...OR put glowing dots along with the flow..OR do a clipping mask and add color that way ..thats a tip from me to the future artists and sig makers, lets not forget stock photos like Nebula stocks *which IMHO are best to be used*.
