Nice result. I'll add it to the original tut as a result.
and the smudging. try this:
do the same thing that you did in your signature, only take the lines and smudge them up and down a zillion times. Almost never hold down your mouse for more than a second, just keep clicking, and moving, then stop clicking. really fast.
oh also don't put too much in front of the focal (the render in this case). that way its.... just better. :D
If you want any more help you can always PM me.
and thegreengecko, if you read this, please empty your inbox because I can't reply to PM's. You inbox is full so it won't let me.

Pivotriot, I dunno what website you used to upload your signature, but try filepact. its my favorite.
Then go to your account settings or whatever and put the link into [ img] tags
ex:
[ img]yourlinkhere[/img]

Pretty nice stubborn. When you smudge, take the smudging that you have right now, and click it around a bit so that it sorta is like a scribbly line. but don't hold the mouse down very long just click, drag for a milisecond, and stop draging. then move the mouse and do the same thing. I'll definatly add that as a result.

And Mnbran, pretty nice, I think I know why you messed up on the pepper smudging part.
Okay, go to your layers channel, and do this:

1. click where the red circle is:
http://www.filepact....files/help1.bmp

2. Goto add tab> brushes.
http://www.filepact....files/help2.bmp

3. All your brushes should show up:
http://www.filepact....files/help3.bmp

4. Find the pepper brush and Set the spacing to 0
http://www.filepact....files/help4.bmp

No go on with the rest of the tutorial.

Sorry for the late response everybody, I havn't really had a chance to check here lately.
