Why is my flag look so screwed up. I have all the settings in the similar means as the tutorial, but I keep getting this. Help would be appreciated. :)

infinity101,
Do you have a link to your original image where I could download it and test it here. It almost looks like something went wrong during either the bump map or the displace process, like as if the strength of the filter being applied was too much, but that is just a guess at this point.
Also, please make sure that you are applying your Bump Map and Displace Filters to the Cloud Layer and not to one of the "Flag" image Layers. I accidentally started to apply my Displace Filter to one of the "Flag" image layers and it would have produced the noisy type results similar to what you received.
I have followed this tutorial when fencepost first posted it, and I just did a test here and it worked fine:

One recommendation, go back and follow the tutorial S-L-O-W-L-Y. Sometimes it is easy to miss a step when you are excited about making something cool like this animation. I know I have done that myself.
Anyhow, if you try the tutorial again slowly, try to notice which step might be causing the problem. I suspect it's in the bump mapping or displacing though.

This is a very interesting tutorial that makes you think. I increased the offset by 5 each time so it would be easy to remember what I did the time before. I made a list and wrote the offset value for each layer on it. I also increased the displacement to 10 for x & y. It gets pretty windy here in Oregon at times.
I plan to put it on a pole but it would have made the image much larger to post in here.

The tutorial says to optimize it for gif. I've never been very happy with the results of optimizations so I skip that step.

cool flags!
The tut is great, I was able to follow it easily.
I messed it up the first time, figured out I put the transform on each layer instead of just the cloud, and it didn't save correctly. it works now, needs just a little work.
I would attach it but don't know how to attach an animation (I looked at the FAQ's and a thread). Could someone please post how to upload the animated gif on this thread (for us newbies)? Does it have to be on a website or can we just put the location inbetween the
thanks much!
