Kerning in Inkscape not preserved in Gimp?

I manually kerned some text in Inkscape (0.45.1) and opened the SVG file in Gimp. The resulting text is not kerned. Is this a known issue? Firefox also has trouble rendering the kerned text correctly.

Shouldn't be unless the paths are seperate.
If they are then you just need to move the paths in question manually in Gimp.
Then again if you import it all as one path then that wont work.
If you want to try to fix this in Inkscape then you'll need to merge the paths there.
