Umm the part i dont' get is the 2 rectangular parts. How do you do them? Do you do paths? B/c i dont' get it, when i do paths and hold down shift, all it does is points. How do you do it?

Use the rectangle tool.

Awesome tutorial, I'll post my results later.

wow, nice tutorial and great idea, it would be pretty sweet to use something like that for a website.

i hate to be a bum but i spotted a flaw, and its one of my pet peeves. On the last image your drop shadow is cut off.
the drop shadow extended beyond the image border and it looks bad imo. when you add the drop shadow you should make sure the canvas size is large enough so that the effect isnt cut off

this used to happen to me alot when i experemented with text effects.

and i hope this helped.

Hey I'm gonna try this out but I have one question (sorry if it's noob-ish):

How do I get the Script-Fu that you said you would need for the tutorial? I go to the site and all I see is coding (sorry if I'm stating the obvious). What do I do with all of it? How do I actually get the script-fu?

EDIT

nvm I figured out how. :w: Now I'm going to try this tutorial.

I had some trouble with creating those connections, so I made it just without it and somehow it doesn't look that bad ;)

Wow, I think that's amazing, but I'm working on an all Nintendo DS game rounded sig, with main characters from the games.

Great tut, very cool. Only thing I suggest is updating the links, none of them work . :?
Oh and I am currently working on one, and I want to have a rotating globe. Here is my problem, it is late and my brain isn't working, can someone here help?
I need two layers (I guess three, it would be BG-Globe-Globe) to remain animating (spinning) at the same time(I need a value layer and a multiply layer to be doing the same thing at the same time, while the background stays still.) I can't get this to work, mainly because I am a n0oB. Anyone know what I need to do, or have a tut that tells how?

Text and render were forced, this was a request on another forum. The rotating globe has the two continents from the game maped onto it (that whole rotating globe process takes way longer than it should.)

With screen:

I've ended up with this

I've never had to use a grunge background before, I find it somewhat obvious. I forgot about color limitations in a GIF so the shadow didn't turn out to well.
