Can't make smooth curves

For some reason yesterday GIMP started making all lines I did when doing "Stroke Selection" jagged and I can't get them to become smooth again. Its really starting to annoy me because I am almost certain that they were smooth before :/

I have tried reinstalling it and playing with the settings but nothing seems to be working.

Is there any way that I can try to fix this? And if I am talking crap about it making the lines smooth then how do I?

well i have found a tutorial that rounds off cornrers if that helps

I don't care much for the whole blur then play with the levels.

Try selecting a rectangle then feathering the selection. Then sharpen it and you should have nice rounded corners.
