i did the tut again, but know i know a little bit more about gimp and what not so what do ya think

i need to work on the text a bit i cant wait to learn more about gimp so i can make tuts lol

I cant find any decent grunge brushes at deviantart

Why not check the Resources section here. Droz and I have converted roughly 150+ sets of Photoshop brushes to GIMP. I'm sure you can find something there that interests you!

how do ppl make BG"s look like hard metal rock type stuff? can anyone give me a link to a brush that does that????? i really like it but mine always looks like teh BG on this one

I did not understand the gradient part, so I made it used color balance.

Maybe you were supposed to brush on different layers, who knows.

Vortex: Good sig, but the text doesnt blend well

I hade some trouble on the gradient part, i couldnt get it in a certain area, it went all over the background. Anyone know how to not do that?

Nice, I like the looks of it, and all the links fencepost linked to :) I have only downloaded about 50 or so brushes at this pioint but I will get more.

Here is what I came up with:

^ I added another of the color grunge layers as well as an abstract layer (both set to overlay) and a border set to dodge. But other than that it is pretty much by the tut :)
