Hi I'd thought I share how to make a simple space background/scene:

1. Create a new picture (any size is generally good)

2. Change the Foreground Color to black

3. click the fill tool (SHIFT-Bkey) and make your entire image black

4. goto: Filters>Noise and select "scatter hsv"

5. Make sure the hue is set at 255!
By playing with the value and the holdness you can create small or large amounts of stars.
By playing with the saturation you can change the pattern. when you are finnished click OK.

I came up with something like this:



6. Next use the G-flare (filters>light effects==>Gflare) and the FlareFX (filters>leight effects==>FlareFX) to acheive the planets and suns.

I Like making my own planets but thats another tutorial :h:

You can a killer "hyperspace" effect by using filters>blur>motion blur and using the zoom function.

I like to desaturate it afterwards. Then I fool with the levels tool untill I get the right amount of stars and at the right brightness. Nice tut.

I did this a WHILE back, kinda used what you did (looking back on it, the planets look SO 'primitive').

PS I have a few newer and cleaner looking ones but I'll need to dig those up.

nice first tut--i am thinking of making my first tut--also on space scenes--when i get time--probably over christmas break--i hope. at the bottom is one that took me a really long time to make a long time ago.

I clicked on FIll Whole Section, and I set the Hue to 225, no stars came up

Could you please tell us how you created those planets? your link didn't lead to any tutorials. I can create the basic mercury-type planet or one like a moon from Jupiter or Saturn, but not like yours.
