As you were writing the tutorial on it, I will not interrupt you, but can send you the file
so that you can refine your tutorial, and brin something 100% to the users, as you always do.

And here is one more, with increased brightness and contrast, this one may look better than
others we submitted priorly.

Hey, I have no problems sharing input. So don't feel like that just because I started the tutorial, that you shouldn't jump right in. I look at this particular "tutorial" as a work in progress. And, just like GIMP, I consider the tutorial to be "open source" :l:

Comments from anyone are always welcome.

You are not just near. This one is more qualitative than all.
If you ask me, I truely did not manage to get some time out to write that sort of tutorial.
I think you go ahead.

great work indeed.

Thanks Ali! I'm pretty pleased with the results and actually it's not all that difficult to do. Just a lot of steps. Also learned some new concepts that I was unfamiliar with, so I can't wait to pass along those nuggets. :w: I'll begin working on a tutorial when I return from my weekend trek.

If I read this right what you want to do is make the layer to be mapped and add an alpha channel by right clicking that layer in the Layer Dialog Box "Add Alpha Channel" and then erase the parts that you want to be see through or sectioned, when you have the map object window open make sure to check the "Transparent Background Button".

Hope this helps some! :l:
